WSOR's L243 train is tied down on the main. In addition to moving freight to Plymouth (the covered hopper), today's train also includes several carloads of ballast to be distributed along the line as part of a tie replacement project. In fact, ballast has been spread on this segment. The welded rail seen here was part of a five-mile length installed in the early 1980s, when Milwaukee Road still owned and operated the line.
